Purpose: Many people expressed an interest in knowing how to flush/change their anti-freeze. Here are the steps and it should be done at least once every 2-3 years... once a year is even better!How it is done:
Get a flushing "T" and install into a heater hose.
Optional: It's recommended that you remove the front knock sensor. It's at the front of the engine, facing down. If you remove the Knock sensor, coolant should start to drain out. If not get a small screwdriver and poke thru the sludge, dirt, etc... When replacing, do not tighten more than 14 ft/lbs.
Attach garden hose, remove radiator cap, open the radiator drain and turn on the water.
When the coolant is coming out clean, start the engine and rev it up a bit, shut off after a few seconds and inspect water. Continue until water coming out is clean.
Clamp off one side of the "T" with a pair of needle nose pliers, not too tight. Then run water until clean again, then clamp the other side of the "T" and run again until clean. This forces water into the heater core and engine sides of the anti-freeze pathways.
While this is being done, you can remove the antifreeze collector bottle, empty the contents and clean by rinsing thoroughly. Replace back in position.
Drain the the radiator completely. Once drained, replace cap, close off the radiator drain and start to fill with A/F, (straight, not diluted with water). Add about 6 Liters of straight anti-freeze.
Start engine and let it run until the Thermostat opens and then add a mixture of the antifreeze (50/50 water/anti-freeze) until full.
